Alternative quirky wedding video from the West Midlands

Well how to start to describe the wedding day of Harry & Poppy….. Awesome, amazing, creative, inspiring, quirky, alternative and just simply a pleasure to behold is a good start I would say!
Please take 5 minutes out of you day to watch this wedding film I made for the happy couple. I am super proud of it and it shows just how relaxed and fun a DIY wedding can be!

I think after watching this film you will agree that these guys seem like the happiest couple to walk the earth! And I have to agree, they are! They were so naturally happy and in love it was a pleasure to be around them. Filming them and documenting their day was a breeze! Myself and the Photographer Lee Webb barely had to say anything to them during the couple shoot, they were so natural in front of the cameras it made it feel like i wasn’t really working that day, just having fun with some friends : )

They had an out-door humanist ceremony which went very well and no rain at all. Just a bit of wind but nothing too drastic. With a humanist ceremony you are able to get married anywhere in the UK and you are able to say personal vows. This gives the ceremony a much more individual touch. Harry and Poppy wanted to say their vows under the huge oak tree at Rock Village Hall in Worcestershire which is just what they did and they pulled it off perfectly.

After the ceremony the whole wedding party enjoyed the day at Rock Village Hall and in the surrounding gardens. The crepe van had arrived and set up ready to feed everyone. I was taken a-back at the level of detail that these guys had gone too to create the perfect day. It was amazing the time that they had clearly invested to make their wedding day unique to them. I especially loved the wooden door frame with the H + P sign above and flowers to frame the aisle that Poppy walked down to meet her new husband. It really did make a difference and I would urge anyone out there who is wanting something a little bit different or a bit quirky and away from the ‘norm’ to spend some time making lots and lots of personalised decorations and signs for your day. And if you are that person who is planning an alternative themed wedding day or a quirky wedding day then please do take a look at all my films in the recent works section and see what I could produce for you!

I think the highlight of this day for me, a Worcestershire wedding videographer, was getting the chance to drive on the back seat of their fully restored white 2CV wedding car! The couple and their families had spent MONTHS lovingly restoring it from scratch. It was ready literally weeks before the wedding date! I had the idea to go for a short drive with the couple in the car and with myself, filming of course, on the back seat! I had also roped in another family member to stand with my second camera on a tripod and film up going down the road. It worked a treat and I was over the moon with the sequence of footage. In advance of the little ride out Poppy’s dad had rolled the canvas roof back so Poppy was even able to stand up in the car and throw her bouquet in the air! It was fantastic!
I always try to think outside of the box and get something unique and different at every wedding if i can.

I’ll remember this unique wedding day in Rock, Worcestershire with Harry & Poppy for a long time yet. They were such a genuinely lovely couple and so were both of their families. On the day Poppy’s mum in particular was always asking if i was OK and keeping me topped up with water etc. Then before i left they all insisted i sat down and enjoyed a meal from the hog roast van! Very kind group of people xx
