Last year, I had the pleasure of producing this wonderful Cripps Barn wedding video of the beautiful marriage of Chelsea & Justin. They said their vows to one another in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside and then celebrated in style at Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire which has a perfect rustic feel that is very popular today.
I started the day with Chelsea in a cute little Cotswold cottage in the near by village of Barnsley. She was getting ready with her bridesmaids, parents and brother. Everyone was calm and enjoying the building excitement.
It was lovely to met their photographer Vikky Kelly again here too. We had met previously on the pre-wedding meeting so I knew we were going to make a great team on the day.
Justin was meeting his Best men, friends and relatives in the village pub down the road from the church. I made a plan to catch up with him there and film him having a pint and getting increasingly more nervous as the tension built!
I also had a drone pilot with me for part of the day on this occasion so he was getting some killer shots of the church from above and also some of the venue and surrounding area. Adding aerial videography to your package really gives your wedding film the wow factor!
The ceremony went smoothly in the beautiful village church of St Mary’s in Barnsley, Gloucestershire. It had the perfect mix of emotion and humour. For myself as a wedding film maker it is nice to have the ability to film the ceremony from two angles and the vicar in this church was accommodating enough to let me do this. It gives me more choices and footage to play with to make the best Cripps Barn wedding video I can.
After the ceremony we all headed over to Cripps Barn, Chelsea & Justin arrived in style in an immaculate vintage car. I think it was a Rolls Royce, but i’m not the best with cars i’m afraid! I had my drone operator, Jag, on hand to capture the moment as they came down the long tree-lined drive. The shot he got was fantastic and it was definitely worth the wait! It gives the wedding video a cinematic feel as the drone slowly follows the car down the drive from a side angle. Certainly a shot that could not have been taken from the ground!
The drinks reception got underway with lots of celebratory hugs for the couple and smiley happy faces as the newly married Mr & Mrs Hyde enjoyed the moment. As a documentary wedding videographer I love these moments and they really help to tell the story of your day. I try to capture as many feelings of emotion and happiness as I can in a relaxed way. This is ultimately my style of videography, capturing moments as they are happening naturally.
The speeches were fantastic and Chelsea’s dad did a fab job of his father of the brides speech. Then after the first dance the whole wedding party took to the dance floor and had the best party ever at Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire. I love it when there is some good dance floor action and this wedding day did not disappoint for that! I got some awesome shots of lots of the guests, young and old, having the best time ever. For me that really can really turn a wedding video into something special. I always encourage my couples to ask their DJ or band to play something lively after the first dance to encourage the guests onto the dance floor.
Then to finish what was a truly epic wedding day the couple had a fireworks display followed by sparklers! It was fantastic to watch and the big grand finale of rockets, comets and falling stars all filling the skies above Cripps Barn wedding venue. Made a perfect end to the perfect day!
It was such a pleasure to capture this day for Chelsea & Justin. I do hope that their Cripps Barn wedding video will keep their memories alive for many years to come!
