Simon & Jaz got married at the Ramada Park Hall Hotel in Wolverhampton in the West Midlands.
The day had it all from an emotional ceremony with two beautiful readings, to an amazing couple entrance complete with Dhol drummers to fantastic food and speeches to finally a party to end all parties with glow sticks, whistles and inflatable beach balls!
I have never experienced a wedding reception quite like it! I was so honored and privileged to be part of it and to be filming all the excitement for their wedding video in the West Midlands. I will never forget that in a long time!
I started the day with a relaxed Jaz and we spent quite a while with her as there was lots to do for her to get prepared. Luckily Simon was just over the corridor in the Ramada Park Hall Hotel so I could easily go between the two of them and film all the essentials bits required to tell a full wedding day story. I like to have plenty of time during the bridal preparations so the bride doesn’t feel rushed or pressured in any way. I arrived at least two hours before the ceremony for Simon & Jaz’s special day with gave me the time I needed to film them in such a way to create a very relaxed wedding films.
I love using natural light videography as my stand point and so the big windows in the rooms at the Ramada in the West Midlands were ideal for my wedding video to be amazing!
After the ceremony and the speeches came the best entrance ever! The Dhol drummers were simply amazing and it got the whole party in the mood for celebrating and dancing! After a big meal a lot of the guests didn’t want to dance straight away but the DJ from cloud9 DJ’s made a special effort to get them up and in the mood! In the end almost the whole wedding party was on the dance floor with glow sticks, whistles and inflatable beach balls! It was amazing to see and i’m so glad i was asked to capture their day and be their wedding videographer as I got to experience it all first hand and it was definitely a wedding reception party I will not forget for a while!
Whilst editing together this completely natural wedding video from a beautiful west midlands wedding venue i realised how special my job is and how fortunate I am to be in this position to document in a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ type of way all these couples special days. And then to be able to given them a professionally edited wedding film to remember it by for years to come! I do feel very lucky to have my job as a wedding videographer and I have to pinch myself sometimes!
I wish you lots of happy years ahead Simon & Jaz and thanks for picking me to film your big day! : )
