Emma & Jamie held their autumn wedding at the stunning Ettington Park Hotel in Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire.
The weather on the day was fine but quite windy. This aside the couple decided to be brave and proceed with their dream of having an outdoor ceremony in the old orangery on the grounds of Ettington Park.
Take a look at this beautiful wedding highlights film of their special day. The happy couple now have this to treasure forever….
The ceremony went really well and so did the drinks reception out on the patios. Emma & Jamie had hired in a magician to entertain their guests during this time. After the family photographs had been taken and all the guests had had a glass of fizz to celebrate with the couple the whole wedding party was called up to the long gallery to be seated. This is a beautiful wood clad room full of character and creates a wonderful warm atmosphere.
During this time my husband and I who was their official photographer usually like to take the couple off for a short romantic shoot with just the two of them. Its a perfect time as the guests are busy finding their seats and possibly getting another drink from the bar etc so we feel that having a short shoot of around 15-20 minutes during this time is ideal. And then that way the couple can make a grand entrance after everyone has settled into their seats. Even though we do give a little direction here for the shoot on how best to stand or look etc we still try to keep this pert as natural as possible so you don’t feel awkward or under pressure.
As a little bit of a back ground and explanation into myself as a West Midlands wedding videographer, I always try to be as un-obtrusive as possible during most parts of the day. I do have to give some direction at times which I try to keep to a minimum so for the main parts I prefer to work from the side lines and not control you or your guests too much. Its nice to allow you to just enjoy yourself with out having to feel that you have to pose for the camera too much.
This style is very natural and I can be often described as a documentary wedding videographer or a reportage wedding videographer. Either way you say it, it all means the same to be honest. My style is to be a natural wedding videographer and capture relaxed happy moments as they happen and to capture the essence and atmosphere of the day that you have worked hard to create.
In my editing style I try to use as much ambient audio from the day, like your guests laughing or funny sound bites from the moment. I also use quality audio recording gear to capture your speeches clearly. I like to use any parts of the speeches that are emotional for the highlights trailer or possibly some funny comments from the best man or a heart felt toast from the father of the bride. I film it all and then carefully with experience craft it together into the final polished piece. More examples can be found here.
I like to film wedding all over the country and would even consider a destination wedding! However, I can mostly be found working in areas like Warwickshire (where this wedding was held) and Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and of course my home county of Worcestershire. So hence why I usually say that I am a West Midlands wedding videographer as it covers the main areas to me. Birmingham is also not too far away so I have also been know to travel a bit further north from my base and capture a special day in the city for a couple as a Birmingham wedding videographer.
After all the formalities were over for Emma & Jamie they enjoyed full exclusive use of the Ettington Park Hotel in Stratford and relaxed into the night and partied with their guests. Their gorgeous little girl Millie dance away with them for the first dance and then looked quite sleepy after a busy day being flower girl. I stayed to capture part of the disco and then packed away my cameras and left the happy couple to it! I had had a fantastic day in Warwickshire and it was a honour to be asked to video their day. I wish them lots of happiness in their new life as Mr & Mrs Hodson!
