On the 18th April 2015 Polka Dot Productions, Worcestershire wedding videographers went to Southampton in Hampshire to film the wedding of Beth and Dan.
We initially started the day travelling from my base in Pershore to Southampton to get to their Church, the New Community Church in Central Hall. The guests all arrived fairly early and enjoyed some time to chat and catch up with each other while awaiting the bride.
Dan was excited and nervous at the same time but happy to be in the company of all his friends and family.
I spent some time getting Dan set up with a lapel microphone and I also plugged in one of my sound recorders to the church’s sound board. Wedding videos with great sound and audio makes such a difference to the end result.
Beth arrived right on time and made her entrance to The Prayer by Celine Dion & Andrea Bocceli. She followed her bridesmaids and flower girls down the aisle to meet her husband to be who was obviously blown away with how beautiful she looked!
The ceremony started with a song by the church band called, Amazing Grace. Music played a big part in this service and they had a four piece band and two female singers. They sang at least four songs during the ceremony and with each one all of the congregation rose to their feet and danced and sang with such emotion it was beautiful and moving to watch.
Following the ceremony we took the couple to a spot in the New Forest near their reception venue, The Beaulieu Hotel in Hampshire, for a romantic shoot. The photographer, Kate Luscombe, was lovely and relaxed and just gave the couple some space to breath so we could work around them and get some gorgeous natural footage. I really wanted to get a nice shot of them walking through the forest and some lovely ‘fly on the wall’ type video shots which I achieved and was very happy with the results. Beth had already told me that they didn’t like posed stuff so I kept it simple and just asked then to pretend I wasn’t there! : )
Then they had a garden reception with a vintage theme in the grounds of the Hotel. With an old 1940’s style ice-cream bicycle and garden games like connect 4 and croquet. The kids and guests alike all enjoyed themselves and it was a nice time to relax in the sunny garden.
Beth and Dan had a lot of gorgeous vintage inspired wedding details in there reception room which we were sure to document in a cinematic way.
As a Worcestershire Wedding Film-Maker I am used to filming weddings in and around Worcester. So it was both exciting and a challenge to go to an unknown location like Southampton. However I love variety, and going to different places such as the stunning New Forest is always welcome! I definitely hope to return one day soon for more Wedding Videos!
Congratulations to Beth & Dan and here’s to many, many happy years together! : )
